How Your Data Is Protected
1ndexed uses industry-standard security practices to protect your portfolio data. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security), ensuring that information exchanged between your browser and our servers cannot be intercepted by third parties.
Data at rest is stored in a secure, managed PostgreSQL database with access controls that limit who and what can read your information. We follow the principle of least privilege — only the services that need access to your data to provide functionality can access it.
We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal or portfolio data. Your transaction history, portfolio values, and financial information are used solely to provide the portfolio tracking service to you. Our privacy-focused advertising partner (A-ADS) does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or personal data — ads are contextual, not targeted.
Authentication is handled through Google OAuth, meaning we never store or handle your password directly. Your account security benefits from whatever protections you have enabled on your Google account, including two-factor authentication.

Hiding Portfolio Values
Sometimes you want to check your portfolio allocation or review your transaction history without displaying actual monetary values — for example, when viewing your screen in a public place or during a screen share.
1ndexed provides a quick-toggle visibility feature accessible via the eye icon in the navigation header. One click replaces all monetary values throughout the application with masked placeholders, while percentages, charts, and other non-sensitive information remain visible.
This feature works across all pages: dashboard, positions, transactions, allocation, and goals. Click the eye icon again to restore full visibility. Your preference is remembered for the current session but resets when you log out, ensuring values are always visible by default when you start a new session.
Customizing Display Settings
1ndexed offers several display customization options accessible from the user menu in the top-right corner of the application.
Theme: Choose between a light theme and a dark theme. The dark theme reduces eye strain in low-light conditions and is preferred by many users for extended use. Both themes are carefully designed to maintain readability across all charts, tables, and interface elements.
Language: The platform is available in English, Spanish (Español), and Polish (Polski). Changing the language translates all interface text, labels, tooltips, and FAQ content. Your language preference is saved and persists across sessions.
Currency: Select your base reporting currency (EUR, GBP, or USD) to determine how all portfolio values and returns are displayed. As described in the Getting Started guide, this setting controls the currency used for calculations across the entire platform.
